Bulletin TENANT – Issue #8
The BULLETIN TENANT issue 8, 2020 is not an emergency issue, but with this play on words, we refer to the fact that it was largely created during the state of emergency in the Republic of Serbia, which was declared due to the virus pandemic. Fighting against the “invisible enemy”, this government created a deep division in society during the state of emergency, between the 700,000 members of the majority party in the ruling coalition and the others whose rights were threatened and who were subjected to various forms of violence. The lighting of torches on the roofs of our buildings organized by the government is the most explicit image of that violence. What was the government’s attitude towards citizens, elderly fellow citizens, their residential and local communities during the state of emergency, is covered in the second half of the Bulletin.
